Kids Nap Mats – A Review of the Different Options
Kids nap mats are all the rage these days, Children mats they are great to use for many reasons but for one thing – why do they just make the best toddler nap mat ever? You will have noticed that they can be very different from each other, depending on what you are looking for. You can get ones that are thick enough to absorb the baby’s weight and prevent them from slipping all over the place or you can get ones that are much thinner and more delicate so that they can actually fit over the child’s feet and cushion their feet a lot better. And we also have softies which are more like quilts that fit over the mattress but are much softer and comfortable than a mat of any kind.
When we came across these nap mats, I was all excited about them, but they are not exactly what I was expecting. They are definitely not children’s books, although they did rate right near the top when it came to Amazon’s kid’s books category. They did have one major complaint though and that is that the price is more than a couple of times higher than what you would pay at other retail stores for them. Fortunately, there is no shortage of review sites online that will help you find the exact same product for less, so we decided to take a closer look. We found that the same Amazon price that was listed on Amazon also was listed on several different websites, including eBay, which allowed us to see the price for ourselves. So we broke out the credit card and went ahead and purchased the nickeled and dimed nap mat just like all the other kids at our house had.
Although I would have liked to see a little more variety when it came to these kids nap mats, they did perform a very basic job which is good for two people, a parent and a baby. They did slip over the baby’s feet just like any other kind of blanket and you have to make sure to buy a removable pillow so that your child isn’t going to get a headache from their head sticking to the mattress. Another thing that you will want to consider is the frame. You obviously don’t want something that is going to fall apart before you ever get a chance to use it. As long as it is firm and doesn’t sag, then you should be fine. The only downfall that we were able to find was that the nap mat in particular is a little bit pricey, but it was still well worth the money given the benefits that it brought us.
